GNU / Linux May 2013 Desktops - Posting Guidelines

* Embedded images should be smaller than or equal to 1440x900 (preferably 1024x768)

The file size for image previews should be no larger than 500 KB

Images linked externally should be no larger than 3 MB

* If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it under 100k (It's recommended that you link it, externally).

* Stay within the board rules, no matter how yummy you may believe it to be.

* If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc.

* Off Topic Posts will be edited or removed.

* The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post images of a pornographic or otherwise provocative nature. We do not support a babes forum and neither will we in an unofficial capacity. Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone.

* The moderators of this forum reserve the right to edit or remove your posts as necessary so they may comply with our Community Rules.

* In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:

Themes: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Wallpaper: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Icons: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Programs: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

* Please use reduced-size thumbnails, where possible, out of respect for people running on lower bandwidth or screen resolutions.

This looks nice and clean.. Debian? 7.0? Is that the latest that was released? I'm trying to find out how to get this.. but I think I'm on the right path..

not much new from my side. still using lubuntu and very happy with it. new wallpaper, new icons, launcher moved from the bottom to the left new icons there as well. thats is :)

Just installed Debian 7 to see how it compares to Debian 6 or Ubuntu, and so far I'm really enjoying using it. A lot more responsive than Ubuntu that's for sure. Still getting used to Gnome 3 though, haven't used it very much so it's taking me a bit to learn my way around.

OS: Debian 7 Wheezy (64 bit)

Wallpaper: Default

Desktop Environment: Gnome Classic (Trimmed down version of Gnome 3)

      Wow, imagine you dump hundreds of hours into completing things and unlocking stuff and you lose it all. Back in the day when cheats were built into games, you could at least unlock things again that way without spending hundreds of hours again. But those days are long gone for some reason as no one builds cheats into games anymore. So it's even more painful that studio that's on its 6th installment **** it up so badly.

The update reverts the app icon to the familiar flat green logo after weeks of mixed reactions online. The icon arrived on May 13 as part of the company's 20th anniversary celebration and was always intended to be temporary, though Spotify only confirmed that after the backlash started. The disco ball took the internet by storm, as the reception was split. A vocal group of users called it ugly and disorienting, with some iOS users noting that the 3D glowing effect made the app look like it was stuck mid-update. On the other end, the icon picked up a following of its own. Its retro, three-dimensional look immediately stood out against the flat, minimalist aesthetic that has dominated app design for years. It even started a small movement, spawning what people started calling "discomorphism," a mashup of disco and skeuomorphism. Other brands started posting disco ball versions of their own logos, probably in an effort to ride the wave of memes that flooded the internet during late May.
