Hi,

My iPhone is constantly showing the location icon 24/7, it has been like this for the past few days now:

I went into location services to see whats recently used location services and nothing is showing up that has used location services recently, its kind of weird feels like something is tracking me. If i turn location services off and back on it re-appears and doesn't go away, same if i restart the iPhone.

Anyone know or got any ideas why it does this?

Did you update to the latest Google app and sign in with it? Mine has been showing too, ever since I updated the app. I believe it's for Google's "Now" functionality...

Yes I did. Just removed the Google app and it has disappeared now!

Great! I left mine running.....Although, I'm wondering what kind of hit to the battery this app is causing?

Also, if you sign out of the App (versus deleting it), it also turns off the location icon....

You can also disable location services for Google Search in Settings->Privacy->Location Services.

I haven't noticed a hit in battery life. I think that all it is doing is monitoring your location so that it can proclaim how far you walked in a month...

There are also settings within Google Search where you can disable certain 'cards'. Probably only need to identify the ones that would be requesting your location continuously if, for instance, you still want some location sensitive features active.

Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
