I was browsing ebay and found this cool stretched monitor. What purpose is this monitor for, such as gaming ,working etc?

Pretty similiar to the monitors used in the UK NHS (rotated by 90 degrees) to show patient status and waiting time, etc.

Looks like it'd be a specialist monitor for manufacturing perhaps.

Definitely not a gaming monitor with that sort of res.

Yeah, that isn't for everyday. It looks like older hospital screens that show details about all patients.

Actually with a x480 resolution, they would look really bad.
