Looking at my Google Hangouts, I noticed it arbitrarily added a few contacts from my work (presumably from my phone) that should not be added to the hangouts. I have not found a way to remove them from there.

Does anyone have a way?

They key thing is though, they were never in my Google Plus account. The information was extracted from my contacts tied to my Google account which happens to have my Android tied to it. I would think if they were to pull my contacts over, they would have included all and not some.

In this case, 3 co-workers are added that I don't care to have. I have tried categorizing them in my contacts but no success in changing it. Of course, I can sign back into their old chat interface to probably get rid of it, but still annoying.

I had this crop up once that my Android phone matched contacts against my G+ account and merged the details, there's a chance that's what's happened to your account too.

I think by deleting all references to them, then manually adding them back to the phone (ensure contact sync is off), that might fix it.

I might do this but see below:

See if removing them from here helps: https://www.google.c...s/u/0/#contacts

As my Google Plus account is tied to my Android phone via the same account that I use for the Play Store which then is the master account for my phone, I can't delete them and/or ensure contact sync is off since I need them on the phone unless there is a way to move them into their own little contact group on the phone sans Google. Part of the reason I have them in the same account as the Play store etc... is because it was heck of a lot easier to copy/paste their info from my work email directory, than to manually input into my phone. :)

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?
