Sandy
Hi guys, I am currently looking for a new laptop, i'm looking for it to be future proof, so am looking for one with a blu ray player possibly. If a laptop has a blu-ray player, will it have DVD writeable capabilities? or will it just be Read only on both dvd and blu ray formats? Thank You
Anibal P
Should have DVD R/RW capabilities, at least on my Desktop it does, don't see why a laptop drive wouldn't have the same capability
Hum
Mine both reads Blu-ray and burns DVDs -- Asus.
giantpotato
Depends on the drive model. Some can write to DVD, some can't.
Lord Method Man
Not necessarily. Nothing about being able to read BDs implies that it has to be able to write to DVD +/- Rs. I have a desktop BD-ROM drive that is read-only for all formats, but I think now *most* BD drives have DVD writing abilities but there is no guarantee. Interesting, I haven't seen one of those in a PC yet, not that I'm looking OP just make sure there's a RW logon on it and it will wright to DVDs
