So I was told by the guy at the gun counter in our Radio Shack that Wal-Mart has put in an order for several billion rounds of .22 LR ammunition. He told me this because I went in to re-stock on .38 SPC rat shot, and asked him about some .22 ammo, and that was his reason for not being able to get any lately. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up so you can keep your eyes open. Hopefully this will help drive the price of that round back down to reasonable levels. I've thought about buying a .22 for a while now to have a dirt cheap, low noise, low velocity round to use on small varmints around the house, but it's been averaging about 30 cents a round, IF you can find it, and at that price I might as well just use my AR-15.
Anybody else heard this rumor and can verify if there's some truth to it?
