ACTIONpack
My friend that I know got Verizon iPhone but because she could not pay her bills (not working at the time and now). The iPhone is block by Verizon aka Bad ESN. Is there a way to get around Verizon bad ESN? I want to buy it from her and resell it.
Nashy
It should be able to work on another network. Are the bills paid, because if they are, it should be able to be unblocked.

Manarift
Ya probably wont beable to get it unlocked if the account isnt in good standing. also the block is linked to apple central activation servers for the phone/device

Shadrack
She can probably put either an AT&T or T-Mobile (or any of the pre-pay providers such as StraightTalk, Net10, AT&T GoPhone, etc. that supports GSM) and it will work with a plan. Not 100% sure, as I do not know exactly how Verizon blocks the phone (unfamiliar with bad ESNs in general). It could just be a block on the CDMA antenna or connection to Verizon towers. The Verizon iPhone supports the most networks, and it supports GSM HSPA+ networks like AT&T and T-Mobile towers. I'm using a Verizon iPhone now on StraightTalk with an "AT&T Compatible" SIM card. Manarift
ok i did some digging the block is per country which means you cant use it on any us carrier but out of country you cant from what i can see, unless the carrier had it blocked at central activation for apple :|
