Nick H. Supervisor Posted October 30, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted October 30, 2013 I can't check it myself due to being in the office, but I went to Google and typed Rift Ubuntu and found this. It looks like you'll need Wine.
fusi0n
seems like it runs great with Wine http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=12482
Bryan R.
Yeah, you should be able to get it working through Wine or Play on Linux (if I remember the name correctly). Play on Linux is a bit easier to work with and has wizards built in for certain supported games. Brandon H 1 Share

Bryan R.
with this i get it to the part where i point it to the .exe and i get an error its a log dump code O_o If you're just installing Play on Linux and trying to install Rift, you should know that it's never that simple. There are probably documented tweaks and/or different emulators that work better. Here is another guide using Winetricks. http://segmentnext.com/2011/03/13/install-rift-in-linux-ubuntu-with-winetricks/

Gotenks98
isn't that a paid service ? Its paid but there is a trial as well. You can test it to see if its worth getting or not. While buying online from the site is some what expensive I found a deal earlier this year where I got it for like $10 along with a bunch of other mac stuff. If it works out for you, just do some searching to find a cheaper deal on it.
Growled Member Posted October 30, 2013 Member Share Posted October 30, 2013 If you don't want to dual boot you could always install Virtualbox and run it inside Ubuntu. I've never had much luck with wine myself.
