compl3x
Another random topic I thought might be interesting. If you have upgraded to the next-gen of consoles, what did you do with your old consoles? Or, if you're certain you know what you'll do with your current hardware when you upgrade, you can discuss that too. I'll throw in a poll for the heck of it. I haven't upgraded yet, but given my considerable backlog, I will be holding onto my current hardware when I upgrade.
trooper11
I'll be keeping both for the long term unless two things happen on either next gen system: 1. Feature parity with the ps3/360 - there are many features I miss on next gen systems 2. A way to play all the games I own on the old system on the new one. If those needs were met, I could pack my old consoles up or maybe get rid of them. I still own ps2s for the game support, so I'm willing to hold onto these things. Xerxes
My PS3/X360 are both still my main consoles (although the X360 has been gathering dust since most of my attention is currently on my PS3 with GT6/GTAV). When I eventually get a X1/PS4 (plan to get both), will most likely have the X1 on the main TV (where the X360 is right now) and have X360 still setup next to it. The PS4 will go in my bedroom (where my PS3 is now) but not sure what I'll do with my PS3, no room to have them both out so probably put it away when not using it (like I do with my trusty PS2). timster
I'm keeping my Xbox 360, mainly for GTA5 and a few other games I still want to finish, but also for the DLNA stuff as I do stream movies via tversity.
John.D
I've still got them. Brought the Xbox 360 E 4 GB a few mths ago now and chucked a 320 GB in it about 2 weeks ago. Since it uses less power than the Pro and because it's got the kinect port. Saves me connecting the kinect power supply to the Xbox Pro 60 GB all the time And the other Xbox Pro 60 GB is in a box. Not going to bother with the Xbox one. Still too expensiive here ($749)
KingCracker
Still playing mine, haven't made the leap to next gen yet.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted January 19, 2014 Veteran Share Posted January 19, 2014 My 360 and PS3 still have pride of place right now. I actually don't even have room for my PS4, Wii U and X1 in my current set up. Really not sure what I'm going to do for space  There is far too many games in my backlog to pack them away and quite a few I'm still looking forward to. Next month sees Castlevania 2 and Thief release (Y) Then we still have South Park and Dark Souls to come. Maybe once the OSs start to mature I will switch them around, but who knows how long that will be.
+Anarkii Subscriber² Posted January 19, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted January 19, 2014 I have my PS3 boxed up, waiting patiently for the Last of Us DLC. After I finish that, I may consider selling it since by then the PS4 will have more decent games and hopefully DLNA support :)
Brendeth
I kept my Xbox 360 so I could work on my backlog whenever I needed a break from the Xbox One games. I traded my PS3 towards a PS4 but after being told I can pick one up I decided to just use that credit for games I want to play now (Fable: Anniversary and DBZ: Battle of Z) and purchase a PS4 later down the line. GotBored
Other > Gave them away. I gave away my Xbox 360 and PS3 probably a year or two ago to my brother who has two kids. I played on PC and mobile devices (iPhone / iPad) more often. On mobile devices purely because you can carry it around anywhere and I travel a lot for work so am stuck in planes, taxis, hotels, conference halls, etc for some time. neoadorable 1 Share
Nick H. Supervisor Posted January 20, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted January 20, 2014 I'll be keeping hold of my PS3 so that I can continue to play PS3 games.
madd-hatter
PS3 = Netflix, Bluray, DVD 360 = NFL2K5 with new rosters That is all. I will decide on which new console to purchase when Destiny approaches.
Blackhearted
I'm still using my last gen consoles and likely will continue to for a while. Especially the ps3 since there's still several things coming for it in the future that i want.
basques
I sold all my consoles (XBO 360, PS3, Wii U, Nintento 3DS) on ebay/other trading sites around the end of last year while waiting for my PS4. As I also have an ipad mini, and a PS Vita, I had my little dose of gaming while waiting. As I can't really find time for gaming as much as I wanted to, I also just sold my gaming PC, so i will solely focus on PS4, or old school RPGs that I can run on my ultrabook. spaceelf
I barely use my old consoles at all. If I go 'next gen' (building new computer right now instead) I'll hopefully be done with the one game I still want to finish...and at that point might as well just give em to Gamestop. +jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted January 21, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted January 21, 2014 I'll go Next Gen when there's a decent catalogue of games to choose from. At the moment my PS3 is acting as a Blu Ray player and my Xbox 360 is.. just there. Probably never going to switch it on again, It's funny actually now I think about it. It was a great console but there's absolutely NOTHING on it which I'll ever want to come back to. I still have my PS2 and GameCube because there are games on those which I go back to every so often.. but the 360.. Honestly .. I got nothin. RageOfFury
I still use my X360 a lot for GTA V/Online. My PS3 doesn't get much use anymore. Last time I used it was during the holidays to play MGS

Coagulated
It's still sat in a corner of my room gathering dust crying for me to mod it, like it has been for the past 4 years.
Starbuck84
Still use my PS3 and XBox360 as my main consoles, haven't upgraded yet. I'm however, planning to get the PS4 and when I do I keep my current consoles. Lot's of great games and I'll just store them eventually.
Pupik
When I upgrade my main PC, the previous hardware from it go to my other PCs (got four). That way when I upgrade one PC, I upgrade them all. The parts from the last PC in line, go to friends if they need it or just dumped to garbage.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 23, 2014 Veteran Share Posted January 23, 2014 I've moved my 360 down next to my PC so I can connect it to my monitor. It's currently a GTA5 machine, but I've still got a couple of games I haven't finished (RDR) or have missed stuff in (Terminals in Halo 3/4) I never noticed just how crappy the picture is until I hooked it up to my monitor, you can tell it's unchanged since 2005. Boxster17
I still have it hooked up to my main TV and play it quite regularly. Still have a huge backlog of games to work through so I don't see myself putting it away anytime soon.
neoadorable
sold the PS3 and 360 to friends for very modest prices, just to slightly mitigate the cost of the new consoles and so that my friends can get back into gaming, as they're not the types to get new devices as soon as they launch.
