Computer won't detect all my hard drives

Recommended Posts

This is super frustrating.

I recently had to replace my motherboard and I brought to a computer guy to assembly it for me. After coming home I realize he didn't connect all the hard drives.

This drive was working fine just last week but now I don't know if it's dead or something.. It has all my songs, pictures etc

Windows 8... bios settings ?

i'm using http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B85%20Pro4/

During the month of december a power outage killed my motherboard..sent it for repair and was using my hard drive in another computer just fine.. the replacement motherboard returned and I was took my entire system to computer shop..

I am just really hoping there's nothing wrong with it..

Have you tried checking in your control panel?

(in win7  classic view, it's device manager, right click on computer and scan for hardware changes)

(note, before you try this, are all the power and controller cables correctly fitted to your hard drives and motherboard?)

via USB ?

Thank you Jesus (I don't even believe in God) ... but I left it on long enough went on my bed to talk and complain to a friend...came back to scan for new hardware (was using my phone to browse) and I see windows telling me to restart to repair... computer restarted and completed the repair now my files are available... wow!.. I just hope it wasn't an early warning of the drive dying soon.
