Internet Tweaks TCP Optimizer Homepage Download This tool does a lot of stuff for you when you want to tweak your Internet, but there are some things you'll have to do yourself. Run it as an administrator to get the most out of it. More Internet Tweaks Source My Recommended Settings (contrary to the source everything else should be good on the source) TCP Auto-Tuning Change RWIN auto-tuning behavior. netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted CTCP New TCP method to increase throughput. For Windows 7 and below, follow the website. Windows 8 and above: Source Run Powershell as an administrator, and type the following command: Set-NetTCPSetting -SettingName InternetCustom -CongestionProvider CTCP ECN Capability Enable ECN for short-lived interactive connections and requests, when there is congestion or packet loss. Most people should leave it to default: netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=default If you know you can use ECN: netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=enabled Chimney Offload Offload TCP processing to network adapter. For Vista only (Windows 7 + have an automatic setting): netsh int tcp set global chimney=enable MSMQ Install MSMQ (half checked), from Turn Windows features on or off. Gaming / General Tweaks Source Don't disable hyperthreading. I think wiping drivers is a bit too overdone, but I'm guessing it should be done for modded drivers. Free Antivirus Download Microsoft Security Essentials (already included in Windows 8 + and Windows RT 8 + Download Tuning Cleaner CCleaner Download Windows Disk Cleanup actually does a lot too! Defragmenter UltraDefrag Download For SSDs, trim with Windows Defragmenter Memory Optimizer CleanMem Just run CleanMem settings once, and forget about it. Super helpful if you don't have that much memory. This might take an hour or two, but I would rather verify the recovery mechanism is completely operational before I need it, or spend any further time configuring the system.
