Hello,

Today revising my device manager Ive found a "Base System Device" missing a driver. Looked it up in http://www.pcidatabase.com/ at it says its a 8 Lane, 8 Port PCI Express Switch from PLX Technology Inc. Not sure if its a chipset thing or not but...

Screen:

Where should I get, should it be the chipset, the drivers from, Asus or Intel?

Thank you

I think that's the culprit. The other stuff I've found via searching in the past few days regarding this issue has appeared to be related to Rockraid 640s e.g.:

https://vip.asus.com...SLanguage=en-us

Initially, I assumed you didn't have a RAID card on the system and that it must be something else.

EDIT: fixed links.

Intel (because the driver will be more up-to-date).

Hello,

Intel (because the driver will be more up-to-date).

Can't seem to find from them. Google search skills must be off today...

Should be installed with the Intel INF driver tool.

You sure its not the ATK ACPI device? They seem to be ASUS specific.

I found this by googling "PCI\VEN_10B5&DEV_8609&SUBSYS_860910B5&REV_BA"

Based on this thread: http://rog.asus.com/...-device-drivers, I would try installing the Intel MEI drivers (and also forcing an over-write of the chipset drivers just in case).

Hello,

Yes, but they are ASUS boards and are seeing the same or similar issues. I don't think the identifier is correct for what this is. I looked it up and it appears to be embedded IC -- and the P5B manual, etc. does not indicate that it has that IC or anything near it as far as I can tell.
