Gerowen Posted March 3, 2014 Share Posted March 3, 2014 I recently bought my first external SWR meter so I could test antennas for people without having to take one of my radios out of the house or my truck to hook up to their antenna. Most CBs don't come with a built-in SWR meter, so if I wanted to test an antenna setup, I had to use one of my radios, which put it in the line of fire if there was a problem. With this external meter, I can use any cheap radio I don't care about to give myself a general reading to let me know if there's any major issues with an antenna setup.
