Question
Dutchie64
Hi all,
Is there a Modern Video player in the Store that supports closed captions ans SRT files?
I ripped my DVD collections a while ago, with the closed captions wher available on disk.
On my regular Win8 pc I can use Media Player Clalssic or VLC to watch the video and turn on closed captions. Or add the srt file when available.
On my Surface 2, I have the XBoxVvideo player and Multimedia8 installed.
With neither one I can show and/or select my embedded captions in the video.
All the helppages on this only mention an XBOX, and somehow the UI options are different and missing on RT.
I have no captions options when using the settings charm, or see a closed captions option when pres&hold a playing video.
Neither is there anything on captions in the "playback options" menu, just "repeat off".
So if someone got this working, or has a videoplayer installed that actually supports embedded closed captions, please let me know. :)
It makes my life a lot easier when streaming a movie from my home server.
cheers all,
rob
