What is wrong with providing certain features, and not providing other certain features?

Nothing. In the same way there is nothing wrong with consumers telling companies what they'd like or expect.

 

The point here is that apparently they had same-sex relationships, then said it broke the game so they removed them, then told the Assoc. Press that they never intended to provide "social commentary" with the game.

 

I think this is another example of Nintendo's muddled & confused relationship with its consumers.

I wouldn't advocate that. The gaming community is full of trolls and idiots, I try not to let them drown-out discussion about stuff like this.
