selo Posted June 11, 2014 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Hi, My original 7300 video card died on my 2007 Mac Pro 1.1 running OSX 10.6.7 Unfortunately there are not currently Apple 5770s on sale in Brazil on our ebay equivalent sites. I only see what seems to be PC 5770s which looks a bit different. My question - I would like to know if PC 5770s are plug and play with my Mac Pro 1.1 (2007) running 10.6.7? I am stuck to 10.6.7 for audio card reasons, I have read in different places 5770s are plug and play with 10.6.6, but other places say they are plug and play with Lion, so I am confused as to whether they would be plug and play in my case (OSX 10.6.7). Eric Veteran Posted June 13, 2014 Veteran Share Posted June 13, 2014 The 5770 is supposed to be compatible with the 2007 Pros, but you might only be able to use DVI. It's possible with Snow Leopard that it may not work unless it's got Mac ROMs on it. You might have better luck with a newer OS version for a BIOS-based card.
