I am going on a 23 day honeymoon starting July 15th to Europe, from Chicago (US).

I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 5 that I would love to use with an unlimited data package. Last time I went to France I got the Orange sim card. However, this time we are traveling more.

14 days in Italy

4 days in Paris

4 days in London

4 days in Dublin

Do you guys think the best thing is to get a sim card in each country? I saw Three has a deal with more than one country, but not sure i qualify. I'd love a sim card for all of Europe.

I don't need text or voice, just data. Any ideas? I would like to have the sim card sent to me soon so that I could have it when i touch down in Milan.

PS. the dates don't add up because there is some overlap of countries.

I'm looking for similar options now. Max Roam is all I'll say cuz I've heard of them, no actual experience however.

If you can get a UK Three SIM card (make sure it's a PAYG and you get the £15 unlimited data addon) then you can use it for data in all the countries you've listed, it won't be much use for calls/text back to the US but if you use Whatsapp/Skype that won't be an issue.

I can order that SIM card, have it sent to me in the US, activate it, and then use it when I land in Milan? If they won't ship it to me, could I just get it off eBay or have a friend in the UK mail me one?

So I am going to get a sim car pay as you go from three in the uk.

Does anyone here live in the UK and is willing to nail me a SIM card? We can PM each other if you can.

Just remember it's only the data that is "free" with "three" :p

The free calls and texts are only to UK numbers

I'm not sure it will if you are flying into Milan first.  If you read the details on the site that Nashy linked to it says that you have to activate the SIM in the UK.

How it Works 1. Order Sim and advise us your arrival date UK.
2. We will activate the line just before your arrival and advise your mobile number.
3. Arrive the UK. Insert the sim. Power cycle the the phone.
4. Set the APN per the enclosed instructions.

That makes sense as the sim isn't really designed to provide cheap data\calls to people on holiday in Europe.

To be honest, roaming rates in Europe are fairly cheap and are set to get cheaper next month.  If the Three sim doesn't work for you I would just buy a sim from someone like TIM when you land in Italy, make sure it allows roaming and then add credit to it.
