BoDEAN
Anyone on here running the 64 bit beta of Chrome Browser? Just installed it and seems to be running pretty good on my Windows 8.1 box. Wondering if anyone else has input on how it's been running. https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/?platform=win64 Edited August 27, 2014 by Steven P. added link to Stable 64-bit Chrome

Boo Berry
Running it too without any issues. I won't ever use a 32-bit browser again. :D
xrobwx71
I've been running it as well for about 2 months with no issues! Runs great on the specs below.

.stan
Only issue is companies refusing to update their browser plugins, like EA for Battlelog. I made two posts about that there, http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2955064779631413662/ and http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2955065230660429620/ so far they don't seem to care. Evolution
I know it's a bit early, but has anyone ran a benchmark to compare performance of 32 vs. 64 dev?
Gerowen
Been running 64 bit Chrome stable on Linux for years now.:P Why is it that there is STILL not a proper 64 bit version of Firefox and Chrome for Windows?
Boo Berry
Why is it that there is STILL not a proper 64 bit version of Firefox and Chrome for Windows? Will be for Chrome around September. Then the ball's in Firefox's court... fortunately, I use pcxFirefox for my 64-bit Firefox binaries. Gerowen 1 Share
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 28, 2014 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2014 I know it's a bit early, but has anyone ran a benchmark to compare performance of 32 vs. 64 dev? It'll probably be around the same or slower, that's one issue they ran into with Firefox (The 64bit JS JIT made heavy use of 64bit load and stores, which turned out to be slower than 32bit load and stores) Main benefit of 64bit isn't speed, it's the extra RAM usage (Which wouldn't help Chrome as much due to the multi-process architecture, each process has its own address space) Edit: And one of the reasons why both Chrome and Firefox were/are 32bit only was because of a shared component that was 32bit only, they've both been working on making that ready for 64bit and that's why you're now seeing Google release a 64bit Chrome and Mozilla moving towards releasing a 64bit Firefox. The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 28, 2014 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2014 On some workloads, on others it's slower (To be expected, same issue Mozilla ran into) http://www.zdnet.com/64-bit-beta-chrome-web-browser-arrives-for-windows-7000030183/

spaceelf
Kind of agree with em, though I'd usually keep it to myself. Couldn't believe the perf issue I had with a new Firefox install (28 or 29 or so) on a fairly common site. Anyway, I've switched from IE11 to Chrome64 (heheh) full time.
