(Account no longer active)
You could write a script (via AppleScript/Automator) to mute sound just before power off, and another to reset it after logging in (Mac OS 9 had shutdown and startup items folders; not sure if OS X does). Eric Veteran Posted August 14, 2014 Veteran Share Posted August 14, 2014 You can hold down the mute button when you turn it on and it will only mute until you let go of the key. Dinggus 1 Share
