LaP
Anybody got a Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 480GB and tried to update it to the lastest firmware? I tried yesterday to update mine (5.0.6 firmware) to the lastest 5.0.7 firmware but the update failed with both the Windows (running as admin) and Linux updater. The updater says the 5.0.7 firmware is not compatible with my drive but according to Mushkin website it should. I tried to create a forum account on Mushkin website to get help but the forum account gets banned after creation. I tried to create 2 accounts using 2 different email and both got banned from the get go (i get a "You have been banned! You do not have access to this function." message when trying to post something). Anyway would like to know if someone was able to update the drive to the lastest 5.0.7 firmware as it's always better to run a Sandforce drive using the lastest firmware from the exp. Probably my first and last Muskin product. Hate companies with poor support like that.
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted January 12, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 12, 2015 Normally you need to activate your forum account before you can post. But, anyway, why do you need to update it's firmware? If it's working OK with 5.0.6, why fix what isn't broken?

Cause couple of years ago i thought my vertex was working fine after it was installed just to find out later that it had problems and needed a firmware update. I would prefer to update the firmware of my chronos before putting data on it. From my own exp always better to run the lastest firmware. Of course my forum accounts are activated.
