Bryan R.
I'm posting this quickly right now since its really been frustrating me. Basically there's two apps that should be available in the store that do not show up when searching: VLC and MyTube!. Neowin had an article when VLC was released, for Windows Phone or Windows all together, I don't remember but when searching on my Windows Phone for VLC it never shows up. Not from the first day and not now. Then there's MyTube! which the guy just redeveloped and released for all Windows 8 devices but it doesn't show up on my Surface or desktop. Anyone else notice this with any other apps or know what's going on?
vcfan
whats your country/region set to? some apps are not available in some regions, so you might have to change this setting to get the listings and install them. if youre still having trouble, try this link http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-ca/app/c527ff2d-b5d0-45b6-bfc3-92fb7357ef72?ocid=Apps_Search_WOL_en-ca_search-main_search-results-from_search-vlc_image_vlc-for-windows-
JaredFrost
That's odd, VLC came up for me in the store, but not MyTube, then I googled for MyTube Windows 8 which took me to http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/mytube/0fd0d07b-4fe1-4bc6-8553-b38ec52e8da9 which automatically brought of the Store App directly to the App. EDIT: MyTube is crap, doesn't work properly for me. Bryan R.
The VLC app you posted is a Windows app, is there suppose to be a Windows Phone version? That MyTube that posted is a bogus one, the developer had to rename his with a "!" because of that one.
JaredFrost
Who is the developer for MyTube! ?(They probably should have come up with a completely different name to avoid any confusion, not just add a !, makes that one seem like the fake one) http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/vlc-for-wp-beta/68f9826f-3e3c-44a9-9b08-f86ad25e432c

I go to that link on my tablet and click install and it says Purchase Error, something about not meeting requirements. That's pretty ridiculous. What was the huge deal about them making an app essentially just for desktop?
vcfan
is your tablet arm based? because vlc for win8 is currently only for x86/64 cpus.
Bryan R.
That VLC for Windows Phone link worked so that's awesome. I guess its not consistently searchable across platforms because its a beta for Windows Phone. Annoying for the time being. Annoying that beta apps don't show up in searches. facebook beta is the same way. My tablet is a Surface 2 so it has the Tegra 4. I guess that explains yet another frustration.
