is a good monitor for color accuracy ? could be calibrated?

You could do worse, but you could do a lot better.  Its good that its IPS -

But if you are serious about photography- why not get something of quality instead of penny pinching 1080 monitors ?

If its a 2nd monitor, and your 1st one is better, then - yeah, its OK.

Personally, I only look @ Samsung, Dell, and ASUS monitors.... FWIW

No, I am not saying NEC are bad for anything -

Dont look @ specs, and definately dont judge simply on reviews.  You need to go and actually look @ the monitor and see it in action.  If you like it - then thats all that matters.

I have been told more than once that I am a monitor snob.
