Assassin's Creed Syndicate

After the mess that Unity was launched in, I don't know if I should be excited by this or not,but Ubisoft is finally doing it and taking the franchise to London. Something I think has been asked for, for a while.

London, 1868. The Industrial Revolution unleashes an incredible age of invention, transforming the lives of millions with technologies once thought impossible. Opportunities created during this time period have people rushing to London to engage in this new world. A world no longer controlled by kings, emperors, politicians or religion, but by a new common denominator: money.

However, not everyone is able to enjoy the benefits of this boom. Despite fueling the engine of the British Empire, workers

It feels a bit like Assassin's Creed died after the third game. Don't get me wrong, the latter ones are enjoyable, but the story and world seems to have gone off the rails a bit. I haven't played Unity yet, though, as it's still wrapped in plastic on my bookshelf since release day.

I like the premise of this one though, particularly if I get to screw with high-ranking London officials, LOL.

I agree. There's really just not much new going on with the games.

I agree. The first three everyone wanted Desmond gone. Now they have their wish and now everyone complains there isn't as much present day story.

I also think Ezio was such a good character they're struggling to top him. Edward Kenway was pretty good though.

Seen no word at all if Steam will be an option this time around - which is amusing, game centered on Industrial revolution and all.

The storyline was a bit splintered after the third without the main Desmond storyline in the present time and made the games less coherent, even though there are still connections with each other game.

Black Flag was awesome IMO though, loved being a pirate, Rogue after that was nothing new in that sense either.

I'm a bit done with the franchise and with the performance joke that was Unity (I can't wait to see this one run at 20fps again with all kinds of bugs), I don't think I'll bite on this one immediately on release.

I'm still interested in the story and the setting looks intriguing, but like most of you are saying here, the gameplay will be more of the same.

I actually think that the The Industrial Revolution is a great period to set a game in. Hell, it is great to set anything in. It is one of the most important times in human history but for some reason always takes a back seat to less important ones.

Let's just hope it isn't garbage. We'll see if Ubi learnt any lessons.

I hoped for action to take place in Japan ,the foreign (templar) influence , the technology they brought, the well known assassins and many Geishas.
