Still, even without such an add-on, how many 7-era (if not Vista-era) laptops and notebooks can run Windows 10, for example?  (I've been pointing out that BOTH my notebooks are in that category - and both are running Windows 10 today.)  We've gotten so used to throwing "devices" away that we forgot that laptops and notebooks are NOT devices - they are designed to be somewhat upgradable - at least as far as the OS goes.  (And it's not THAT hard to upgrade the OS in a laptop or notebook.)  Why toss when you don't have to?)

My 2009 Clevo M571TU is still going strong with its GTX280M, this looks like an ideal solution to being able to "upgrade" it as it never moves off the desk, it weighs a ton and is built like a tank, but even still, that's a lot of external componentry, ugly to look at. As for the guy above, mine is a Core 2 Quad extreme, it runs Windows 7, Vista, XP, 8 and 10 just perfectly, and it's from 2009 :)

I play most of my games on console now, gave up on the PC master rat race a while back, certainly won't be spending
