In my drive's error log, I get a lot of `Uncorrectable error in data` errors and 'Media write protected errors' The total error count is 2534!
Have 1 re-allocated even count but no re-allocated sectors.
Here's the uncorrectable error log :

If you have a portable hard drive. make a drive image if and while you can. It appears that your drive is failing.  From my experience the average HD life is about five years with 40 hours of use per week. Some die faster  Some last over twice as long. At 15,344 total hours of usage, and what you are describing, the drive is likely failing. I'd get a new hard drive (or better yet, a solid state drive) and restore the image made from your existing hard drive onto the new drive. My business uses Macrium Reflect for imaging and restoring. You can get the free version online at macrium.com. If you can't image your old hard drive then copy all of your data files from it onto a portable hard drive or large-enough flash drive, if you haven't already done so.

Time to replace it, its not dead yet, but it's giving you fair warning.

Replace it before it fails, you can probably just clone it as it is still ok at the moment - less work than waiting for a failure and then restoring from your backup
