cosrocket
I have a desktop PC with an Intel i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and Intel 4600 graphics. I was using it with a 24 inch 1080p display, but now I am going to be using it with a 27 inch display with 2560x1440 resolution. I have to get a video card with a dual link DVI port so I would appreciate some video card suggestions. I don't game, I will be using it for occasional Photoshop and light video editing. Most of the time I will be online and using Microsoft Office. But there will be times when I will have multiple applications going at at time. I'm not looking for overkill but I want to make sure whatever I get will not be underpowered either. Thanks for your help.
Vvo
A GTX 750 Ti should be sufficient for your needs
tsupersonic
An Nvidia GT 730/740 or GTX 750 Ti if you want to go all out should be more than enough.
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted June 27, 2015 Moderator Share Posted June 27, 2015 I have this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125502 The reason was for Linux support. The temps are very low. Even when I play Minecraft.

PGHammer
do you have to use dual link DVI? do you have to use dual link DVI? I actually have GTX750 (not GTX750Ti) as a floor recommendation despite the minimal cost-difference - the ASUS DirectCU Silent version is, in fact, why. The ONLY quirk (for some) would be that the Silent is dual-slot - however, the Silent is arguably the best dual-slot GPU for lowest-end usage. 1. It actually supports 4k desktop (via HDMI) directly - as long as the display can accept it, the card can deliver it. (How many $140USD GPUs can say that?) 2. It's an energy-sipper - partly due to it not needing a fan or fans. 3. If you have a GTX550Ti or older GPU (from anybody), the Silent will curb-stomp it (primarily due to the Maxwell GPU core and secondarily due to the 2048MB of GDDR5) - this is despite the memory bus being narrower than that of GTX550Ti and the lower power usage besides.
