ultimate99
I have a Microserver with Win Server 2012 R2 installed. I have a macbook pro that I'd like to use Time Machine to backup to the server. I searched online and the best I got was this, however, it's outdated. I don't want to convert the Microserver to apple-only machine, I use it for other Windows devices. Does anyone know of a better solution? Any recommendations on how to leverage the sever? protocol7
I use netatalk on Ubuntu for Time Machine backups. The same machine also runs Samba so I can backup Windows to it as well. If you don't want to install linux onto the Microserver you could run it in a VM. I do this on Windows with another netatalk instance used for AFP sharing. offroadaaron 1 Share
offroadaaron
Running a linux VM to do this would probably be easiest. binaryzero 1 Share
