I almost got hoodwinked by a scam site

Recommended Posts

I am someone who is extra careful about opening links, everything in general. However, today my boss send me a crazy link (job related) like he always does.

I without even thinking for a second clicked on it. Yep, my brain was on holiday, it seems. I should have been at least a bit bothered when it said my session had expired. No, in my hurry to serve, i did the unthinkable and entered my password in a scam site.

I only realised as I was pressing the enter button, so I had to change my 20 character long gmail password. Right after that gmail informed me that it had blocked a login attempt from a foreign country.

Long story short: I got hoodwinked! Also, never trust even your boss.

This is one good thing about password managers like lastpass. Not only do they create passwords you have no idea what they are, but when you go to use them, the domain has to match in which they were first saved on. Which, if it doesn't is a great red flag.

That's an unequivocal NO! And the same will be true regardless of who takes the office next.
