im using fc 2. and gnome
downloaded a mouse theme from gnome-look.org
and have no idea how to use it

searched the net.. but most of info was irrelevant..

how do i edit the key in gconf-editor?

i dont use gnome, so you will have to use kde temporarily to install it according to my instructions. also, just fyi: in reviews, ive read that gnome 2.6 in fc2 is really buggy.

in kde, go to "start", configure, system, peripherals, mouse, and then click on the cursors tab. then go to add new themes, browse to your cursor themes, click ok and viola, its installed.
