bigger icons?

please forgive me for being a moron....but i cna't seem to remember how i did it.......how can i make my desktop icons bigger........not just by clicking use large icons.....i want to put in a size....i forget what i used to do it before.....

can someone please assist me

This way lets you go up to 72 max:

Desktop Properties, Appearance tab, Advanced, choose Icon in the drop down menu and change to the size you want (32, 48, 64, 72)

Why 72? CAn't they just make them all like 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 96, and 128? I'm not fussy about the 128 though, but the idea of having the icons at size 72 is ridiculous! :D Anyone know how to make them 96? Not that I want to make them that big, of course! :D

You can increase the size of the desktop icon above 72 but it will increase the size of other icons aswell. See picture below. If you want to change it go into regedit, the search the HKEY_USERS key for "Shell Icon Size". When you find it just change it's value to the size you want. Here's where the value on my machine was located.

HKEY_USERSS-1-5-21-1177238915-839522115-854245398-1003Control PanelDesktopWindowMetrics

You will need to change the icon spacing for icons this big otherwise there won't be enough space between the icons and the'll overlap each other.

they work he was just saying using the display prop window lets just say bigger than 64 will make ur desktop slower plus the icons won't select rite
