Die Hard 4.0 - Is Still On

Maxim magazine (via Freeze Dried Movies) asked Bruce Willis, who stars in the upcoming Hostage and Sin City, about whether or not a fourth "Die Hard" movie was still a go.

"It's Die Hard 4.0. They're working on the script right now," says Willis. "Doug Richardson, who wrote 'Hostage' is typing away furiously. It's a really interesting idea. And it's the first one that Fox has liked, so we'll see."

While he wouldn't reveal much about the plot, he did add, "John McClane is retired. I can tell you that."

How exactly do you know what the movie is planning to offer? Have you seen the script? A preview? Even a rough outline? Either way the movie theaters could use a good violent, high paced action movie. The theaters are overloaded with teen oriented crap and quick scare "the ring" type garbage nowadays.

I loved VCD/DVD/whatever.. version die hard 2 (that's the only one that I've seen), the censored one (TBS) doesn't have the full effect. (I loved the ending part of that movie)

only problem i can see with a die hard film coming out now is that it will get watered down by the hollywood bullsh*t merchants like all the the films do in todays world of films

I thought Die Hard 3 was pretty good, although not as great as 1 or 2. Die Hard 3 definately had more action than the other 2.

I wonder what Bruce Willis meant by "John McClane is retired." Does that mean he is no longer a cop and just laying low or does it mean something else?
