hello nice people, i've been slaving over this lil xp theme for a day or two now and it is nearly nearing completion. I just need some help on a few things (like how the hell do you change the font colour of inactive windows when they are shown on the startbar). I wanna get a release out as soon as possible so you can enjoy it (if you like it that is :D)

any critisicm or feedback would be welcome, except the kind that is like "your themes suck, go back to sucking off your dad" type things...you know the ones ;)

no need to flame here. even though your jpeg compression is really REALLY horrible, your theme actually looks like a keeper. i like it. maybe you could just make the start / taskbar buttons a little bit brighter, and the window buttons a little bit darker. so that their colors would match and all. good job anyway :)

sorry about that =/

i tried to compress it using normal xp, but the file was 500 bytes too big to upload here (doh!) Same with pshop so i had to use really terrible settings.

if someone can gimme some webspace, i can pass on a better quality image :)

as for the colours, they match pretty well when you use it imo, screenie doesnt show it tho

This certainly deserves a commendation. Go ahead and complete the theme, atleast you deserve high praises for keeping the original WinXP theme intact. Why should window users have anything to do with Aqua theme which is a Mac theme and belongs to Mac users. If these demented folks want an Aqua theme on their window desktops, then I humbly suggest to all of them to be kind enough to switch to Mac. Windows should only look like windows, anything else is just a blind imitation. Win Xp themes are just beautiful as they are and there is no need to copy some other OS theme.

Purush You are 100% right to your opinon and I respect that.

I personally think that OS X looks better than XP, but I think the operations of Windows XP is much better Thats why I've been editing the Aquablue theme. You obviously don't feel the same but other might. ;)

    • Google Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving for OpenAI by Pradeep Viswanathan Noam Shazeer is best known as one of the co-authors of the 2017 “Attention Is All You Need” paper, which introduced the Transformer architecture that now powers most large language models. He also worked on several major Google AI projects, including LaMDA, before leaving the company in 2021 to co-found Character.AI. He also authored the Sparsely-gated Mixture of Experts (2016) paper, which is popular among the AI community. After falling behind OpenAI and Anthropic a couple of years ago, Google brought Shazeer back in 2024 as part of a major deal with Character.AI. Through this deal, along with Noam, several other researchers returned to Google DeepMind. More recently, he was a vice president of engineering at Google and a technical co-lead for Gemini. Today, Noam Shazeer announced on X that he is leaving Google and joining OpenAI. In his post, Shazeer said it was a difficult decision to move on, adding that he was proud of the Google team and what it had built together. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman welcomed the move with a post of his own, saying Shazeer was one of the people he had most wanted to work with since OpenAI’s early days. Google has made strong progress with Gemini over the past year, closing the gap with OpenAI in several areas. But losing Noam Shazeer is a major talent setback for them, especially after bringing him back less than two years ago by spending a fortune. For OpenAI, the hire adds one of the industry’s most experienced language model researchers to a team that is already pushing ahead with ChatGPT, Codex, and its next generation of frontier models.
