Dazzla Veteran Posted August 26, 2002 Veteran Share Posted August 26, 2002 First of all, the icons positions have changed in Jag. They are now as follows: /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemIcons.bundle/Contents/Resources/ CDAudioVolumeIcon.icns ClippingPicture.icns ClippingSound.icns ClippingText.icns ClippingUnknown.icns GenericFontIcon.icns HelpIcon.icns iMac.icns ("Computer" icon for toolbar) InternetLocationAFP.icns InternetLocationFile.icns InternetLocationFTP.icns InternetLocationGeneric.icns InternetLocationHTTP.icns InternetLocationMAILTO.icns InternetLocationNEWS.icns KEXT.icns (kernel extension icon) NetBootVolume.icns SystemIcons.rsrc (Contains special folder icons, home folder, some remote disk icons, etc. Note that the trash icons here seem to be only for the trash's proxy icons.) /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/ new_folder.icns movies.icns public.icns pictures.icns info.icns multiselection.icns apps.icns find.icns eject.icns Finder.icns chevron.icns docs.icns music.icns /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/ Dock.icns url.png resizecursorv.png notfound.png TrashEmpty.png TrashFull.png resizecursor.png dockling.icns finder.png poof.png (The TrashEmpty and TrashFull PNGs here actually control how the trash looks in the Dock. You need to click on the trash once for the icons to change.) /System/Library/LoginPlugins/BezelServices.loginPlugin/Contents/Resources/ alert.tiff bright.tiff continuousShadow.tiff contrast.tiff discreteShadow.tiff eject.tiff indicator.tiff leftBar.tiff lock.tiff middleBar.tiff mute.tiff rightBar.tiff volume.tiff (Not icons per se, but these are the graphics for the translucent panels that come up when you adjust brightness/contrast/volume from the keyboard.) /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemUIServer/Contents/Resources/ camera.icns video.icns cd.icns (another audio CD icon......) ipod.icns /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow/Contents/Resources/ AboutBox.tiff ShutDown.tif LogOut.tif AboutServerBox.tiff loginwindow.tiff /System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent/Contents/Resources/ MacOSXart.tif shutdownH.tif resetH.tif gotoH.tif shutdownN.tif resetN.tif shadowImage.tiff InvalidDataIcon.tiff capslock2.gif UsersPref.tiff MacOSXServer.tif lock.icns ShutDown.tif homeH.tif gotoN.tif loginpanel.tiff homeN.tif loginpanelserver.tiff /System/Library/Extensions/InternalModemSupport.kext/Contents/Resources/AppleModemOnHold.app/Contents/Resources/Application.icns (I have no idea what it's for, but it looks cool.) :) /System/Library/Extensions/IOATABlockStorage.kext/Contents/Resources/PCCard.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IOCDStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/ CD-R.icns CD-RW.icns CD.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IODVDStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/ DVD-R.icns DVD-RAM.icns DVD-RW.icns DVD.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/ FireWireHD.icns Floppy.icns MagnetoOptical.icns MemoryStick.icns SmartMedia.icns SuperDisk.icns USBHD.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/ External.icns (Default external hard drive icon -- the blank orangey one.) Internal.icns (Here, of all places, is your default hard drive icon!) Removable.icns (This is the icon for mounted disk images.) /System/Library/Extensions/PPPSerial.ppp/Contents/Resources/NetworkConnect.icns (Don't ask, I don't know why it's here.) I know for a fact that these aren't all the icons in existence (check out /System/Library/Frameworks/AppleShareClient.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AFPClient.icns or /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CommonPanels.framework/Versions/A/Resources/NSLPlugins/NSLUI.bundle/Contents/Resources/radminx.icns for an especially cool couple of examples!) As for making an icon out of a certain app, just either drag the app into iconographer, or view the package contents and there should be a .icns file in there.
