I finally purhcased Samsung YP-25.

Origianlly, I wanted Sandisk E270. But that thing is not going to be released in Canada anytime soon. So, I've decided to get YP-25 while I wait.

My first MP3 player was Creative Muvo 512MB. Because I am so used to drag-and-drop feature. I wanted my second MP3 player with the same feature. Unfortunately, Sandisk Sansa E200 series is the only one that meets all my needs, which is NOT AVAILABLE in Canada.

This is the box. It is very small. I could actually put it in my pocket.

Opened. It has the player and USB cable, A small manual plus Windows media player 10 CD underneath and earphones including earbuds.

The player in my hand.

Since I don't have any other MP3 player to compare its size. I put it side by side with my Creative Muvo player.

Though it does not support true drag-and-drop, it does support similar feature. As long as you have windows media 10 installed, you can simply drag and drop files to it.

What I do not like is that I can no longer organize files the way I want. The player forces organization of files by albums. I will have to get used to this or I will have to return.

Stability

It crashed once while I was testing.

Sound

The sound quality is certainly better than what Creative Muzo offered. Though I could barely tell the difference.

Battery life

I could only test it up to 20 hours and the battery indicator still had about half left. This was after charing two hours via USB.

Build quality

Certainly MUCH better than Creative Muzo. It feels very solid in my hand. It doesn't feel like it's made of plastic but metal. It feels cold to touch.

Control

I actually liked the control. Though I had to practice a little bit. I had no problem with control itself, but rather controlling pushing force of my fingers.

The Screen

1.8 inch color screen. It's very nice. The screen actually looked nicer than my IPAQ 4500.

Other features

I have no intention to use the player to view images. So, it wasn't my certain. I did not also wanted my MP3 player to have video playback feature. So, it wasn't my certain, either.

But, FYI, YP-25 does support jpg images, but doesn't support video playback.

Overall

I like it, but not fully. I am going to wait for Sandisk Sansa E270.

Hmm, I hope I did okay for my first MP3 player review.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks. I bought Muvo like 2 years ago. I somehow had gotten used to myself calling it "Muzo".

It has crashed twice so far. Maybe, a firmware update is needed.

25 hours and still playing (still half battery left on the indicator). The battery on this thing's certainly amazing.

Yeah or so I heard; 35 hours rated battery life. Its good to see companies focus on more battery life stuff now, instead of the usual 12 hrs or so which is basically not a lot because for Li-Ion batteries you wont want to drain it down anyway. I am testing the B153 from MobiBLU right now, 163 hrs battery life (rated) Damn man I just cant seem to drain it down, I leave it on 24/7 lol

35 hrs on the Yp-Z5 is enough for rated. Also, how do you think of the sound quality? Treble, bass, midrange, sound seperation?

It doesn't have custom EQ. But that doesn't matter to me. I am not a sound maniac.

It has following options.

Normal

3D-club

3D-stage

3D-stuid

Ballad

Classical

Jazz

Dance

House

R & B

Rock

I honestly cannot tell you about sound quality because I have no formal knowledge in this field. All I can tell you is that it sounds slightly better (no buss or statics) than Muvo.

It's also gapless.

    • I already have AI "Scareware blocker" on my private profile, it's in "Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Security". I've disabled it because I know what scareware is and don't need AI to tell me.
    • Google are also developing a version that will require you to use an Android device that passes Google Play Integrity for reCAPTCHA challanges: https://reclaimthenet.org/goog...or-de-googled-android-users That will lock people out of various website that don't use Google blessed versions of Android sadly.
