Dirk
So I've had my console since the end of Janurary and I didn't really have any problems with it. Then E3 rolled around and I decided to download the Lost Planet demo. Well that was all fine and dandy until my damn console started locking up and completly freezing, no red lights or anything. So I pushed it off as just being a demo problem because most demos aren't perfect. So then all this time goes by and then I pick up Dead Rising . Dead Rising also does the same fracking thing So I called Microsoft today and they told me to try the game with my harddrive off and make sure the time was correct and all the other bs that goes along with whatever. Told me to make sure it isn't overheating which it wasn't. So then they inform me that the warrenty is up. A 400 peice of equipment has a 3 months warrently. Three whole months. Yay....So now they want to charge me a hundred and forty dollars to get it fixed. They want to charge me more than 25% of the consoles original price to get it fixed. I don't know if they just refuse to believe they ****ed up or they really are just trying to get as much money as humanly ****ing possible. But this is the insaniest thing I have ever had to deal with. If you want to delete this or edit it thats fine. I just needed to vent because of how ****ing stupid the whole situation is. I know some of you are going to say "You should of bought the extended warrenty!" Yea well ****. I honestly didn't think they would be so stupid. Now excuse me as I contemplate selling one of my kidneys to get the thing fixed.
Spartan_X
sorry to hear about your problems buddy... :pinch: in this case you may want to take your console to the store you got it, some other people on this forum had similar problems and their consoles were replaced by the stores with a new one instead of trying to get it fixed. give it a shot and see how it goes...
NeoTrunks
Speaking of which... how long do we have to get the extended warranty for $60 after we buy the console? My 3 months are almost up, and I haven't had any major problems (Saints Row demo freezes every now and then). Can I still get the extended warranty? dnast
I believe you can extend your warranty as long as your original warranty hasn't expired.
Dirk
I swear it's the most annoying thing when you just got done with an escort or something in Dead Risng and right before you save BOOM. I want to eat a baby.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted September 2, 2006 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2006 Honestly I know this may sound like a stupid suggestion, but what about raising hell to Capcom directly? Seriously, I have read other people as well having issues with their 360's just because of these two games, so it very well might be more than just a coincidence... I just think that is so screwed up they are charging you that much to fix it. Just completely screwed up in all regards.
Heyo
Man that sucks! You are right, a 3 month warranty for something like a console just blows. I bought a dud Sony Erricsson phone recently. It took well over 3 months, 3 repair trips and 2 swaps before I got one that worked flawlessly. Here in Australia we get a 12 month warranty on all electrical stuff by law. Good luck
Meshuggah
NeoTrunks: as long as your console hasn't died, you can purchase an extended warranty at any time, even if your 3 month warranty is up. My second console died from Lost Planet demo as well, so I feel for you, but....you should have bought the extended warranty :D

RGSPro
1. buy a new one at walmart. 2. take the warranty stickers under the faceplate off and make sure there are no stickey residues left 3. change out the insides so the broken one has the new serial on the outside. 4. put them back together and put the faceplates back on. 5. put it back in the box and take it back to walmart for a full refund. complain at walmart and they give you anything you want. (they wont check the warranty sticker).
Meshuggah
come on dude, tha'ts really illegal, not to mention any game he has bought from XBL is still linked the other console. you don't think MS would notice that?
RGSPro
they dont care that much. all he has to do is say he sold it to someone. if microsoft isn't going to support their hardware, then you need to work the system.

Nigriv_LV1
It's not a 360 problem, its a manufacturing problem. How was it like before you played the demos? Buy an xtended warranty.
1759
Only a 90 day on those things? That's really cheap of MS to do that, it's almost Sony-esque. Products that complex, should have a minimum of 1 year on parts.
WooSH
i no its not the time to say it, and u didnt mean it....but buying first-gen stuff...your gonna run into problems. wait some time, get reviews and then buy. im more of a sony fan so im gonna wait for the ps3, hopefully they have better quality. but if problems start turning up like this, im not gonna buy it. also do the thing where someone said up 'beating the system'. walmart is nice. but theyre sales are hurting these days. they mite not let it go now.
