uniacid
I was wondering if anyone could help me with some problems and questions I got with Linux. I'm using Red Hat 8 with the newest kernel, anyways I got a audigy and appearently its working in linux, since I can hear noises from (gaim, sound test) but when I try to play an mp3 with xmms (newest version) it doesn't play at all, when I click on the file it opens xmms then I click play but the mp3 file wont load onto the playlist, and then sometimes it even crashes (xmms) so I was wondering what could be up  Now another thing, is how can I set up a network and share my net on linux to my other pc that is on winxp ? And concerning the xmms problem I downloaded a mp3 i uploaded on my site and also when I set up linux to be able to read ntfs filesys's I copied a mp3 over but got the same result :/ I would appreciate any help :)
mezz
RedHat 8.0 has removed support MP3 in the XMMS, because of license issue. I suggest you to check -> http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=1890&page=4 .. >> Now another thing, is how can I set up a network and share my net on linux to my other pc that is on winxp ? Please, learn how to read other topics and use the search function, before you create a new topic. It has been answered and there have two topics about it in this week. pagal
for Mp3s: (an easier alternative) go to http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=107 and download xmms-mp3-1.2.7-13.p.i386.rpm; double-click to install. for Network: you'll have to configure samba. search for samba on this site as well as www.google.com/linux good luck

pagal
you can also install "winetools" from www.frankscorner.org/wine. I found it very helpful.
