Mandrake will always crash on me no matter what I do, but It wil write LILO to the MBR so I don't have 2 put in a disk if I want 2 boot in to Linux. But Suse wont says it cant, But the boot disk alows me 2 boot into Linux or XP. Why wouldn't be able 2 write 2 the MBR. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I mean you would have had to spend the time that it takes to train yourself to press 2 instead of writing the word; so I just cant understand why you cant just write the word. I am bloody confuse, so now I won't be able to help because I am confusing. If he is expecting for help then he needs to write much more clearly, more details and etc. That's his own problem and his fault if he doesn't get the good answer from someone. KC Posted November 27, 2002 Author Share Posted November 27, 2002 here is the proper way: I am having a problem with SUSE 7.3 it will not write the boot manager to the MBR. It says that it failed. Therefore I have to use my boot disk, which is a floppy 3.5" to be exact. In Mandrake 8.0 It does not do this. I can not run Mandrake because it has a compatiblity issue with my video card and crash's, I am aware of downloading the rpm form NVIDIA. Also have no other version of Mandrake or SUSE. My second partion is Windows XP Pro formated in the NTFS file system. My hard drive is 20 gigabytes large, partioned into two partions of 10 gigabytes each. Does any body know why SUSE would not be able to write to the Master boot recored? It worked when I was using the FAT32 file system. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
