Imac arrived

Hi,

Now the happy owner of a Imac. :D

Few Questions.

1) How can I get a trash icon on my desktop, I have it on the Dock but it won't drag

2) Also I tried to delete the latest breaking news from the root of the drive, but it complains about this being owned by root. I am logged in as an admin account?

3) can I bin the OS 9 applications folder, I don't plan / want to use os 9.0

All for now bound to be loads more yet

You can't, unless there's some app somewhere I haven't seen.

Click the file and then press command + I to see the Get Info screen. See permissions, change the permissions until you can delete it.

Yeah, if you don't intend to use Classic or OS 9, bin it. If you can't drag it to the trash, just do the same as above.

Best i've managed to find is an alias with the right icon on the desktop. Works fine except you can empty it.

Strange I've only used older macs 9.1 8.5 etc a few times but I miss the desktop trash
