Fotix
Post in the Unix Forum as that is where this belongs. That said, EXE is a Windows executable. You're running Linux. You may be able to open and extract the files using WINE or some other extraction utility. Use the search function in one of these two forums: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ http://www.linuxquestions.org/ Search for WINE or EXE and look around for detailed help. Keldyn
You will need to remove the linux partition and reformat the drive as FAT32 or NTFS and THEN install XP. moved to Linux forum

WINE Is Not an Emulator.. :p Wine is a Windows compatibility layer. It runs in between and "translates" the windows code so that it may run under nix using its own implementation of windows API's. Prasanth
hi thanx for helping me i'm gonna download it and try it thanx lol the program that makes the boot floppy is a win32 binary so it will not work in linux, I think your only option is to make a boot floppy from someone elses system. mAcOdIn Veteran Posted December 22, 2002 Veteran Share Posted December 22, 2002 To install XP something I'd try to do is go into your bios when your computer boots and try and fin a setting called "fail safe settings" or "compatability settings" and choose that. What that will do is set all your motherboards settings to real conservative values sometimes doing that will allow the windowsXP cd to install fully. After XP is installed then you can go back into your bios and set the settings to performance or optimized and get the performance back.
