Daem0hn
because the macos* operating systems are based on unix, would it b possible to run mac applications on *nix??? if not, is there a way to decompile and recompile the applications to run in *nix? kjordan2001
Nope and nope. MacOS might have a unix core, but that doesn't mean that Mac apps will work on Linux. MacOS is heavily modified and I don't believe it uses apps the same way linux does. I've never heard of a way to decompile apps.
MxxCon
check out my post on BPN forum. that's as close as you'll get to running osx apps at least for now..
the evn show
Technically you CAN run max os X applications in Linux using MOL (mac on linux) - of course you will require a Macintosh to run that. I'm wiling to bet the OP is running an x86 based computer so that leaves him/her SOL. You could run Mac OS 8.1 and earlier using basilik II (spelling?). It emulates the early 68030 and earliear macintosh computers reasonably well. I don't know how usefull this is being that most mac software written in the lat 5 years won't work.
