BxBoy
I'll have to get around to installing it and testing it out, but I don't want to waste CDRs.
+BudMan MVC Posted January 10, 2003 MVC Share Posted January 10, 2003 I'll have to get around to installing it and testing it out, but I don't want to waste CDRs. You are kidding right?? The avg price of CD's less than $0.10 each (after rebates) - $0.30 too much for you?? This is also why you have a few CDRW's around.
ganloo
Thank you all, I decide to wait for official one. I don't wanna download it now. I expect official version will come out here soon.
MulletRobZ
I'll wait for the final, but I do want to compare Red Hat, Knoppix, and Mandrake once that's done. That way, I might find something better than Mandrake, which I would doubt there is since 9.0 enabled me to use Linux without Windows.
Prasanth
I expect official version will come out here soon. 8.1 final will be out on April :)
Dazzla Veteran Posted January 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted January 11, 2003 Hopefully this version sorts out the probem I had with 8. I've got the Asus P4S8X and I use the onboard LAN to connect to a cable modem. Redhat couldn't activate the hardware and gave me errors on boot about the Ethernet post :( It recognized the hardware fine though :/

ganloo
I don't think Redhat is one of the linux distro can be used out of the box, if you wanna dig out the most power of linux, you have to do many many thing after installation, especially when you are a chinese language user like me, but mandrake does with these matters greatly.
