Rathamon
OK for security reasons I want to get rid of the Daemon Banner in OpenSSHD , since it shows the version number of my SSH. Some people suggest recompiling the source code with the string changed/removed but I dont really want the hassle of doing this if I can avoid it Any suggestions? mezz
Edit the sshd_config, just disable it. To complete remove the version, it looks like you will have to recompile it. When people login in and they can type ssh -version.. I find it's no reason to disable the version, just keep your SSH update.
Rathamon
I removed and changed it in the config files , but it just wont go away MADNESS of course I blame SuSE at the moment , maybe a different distro will make it go away
