your internet install disk is probably for windows. if it is, it won't work on linux.

Do you already have Lycoris installed?

or

Are you asking how to install Lycoris 'from' the internet?

Sorry, but, you're not being clear here

Dude, you are online already, which you are able to post and read here.

with linux Lycoris form LinuxIso.Org

Ouch..... You just download ISO file and burn it on the CD. My very highly recommend you is to...... stick to Windows or Mac..

Did you setup your DNS and DHCP server addresses, etc? (not sure if it's automatic - never tried Lycoris) Is your modem compatible detected with Lycoris? Maybe you need to download a driver for your modem.. I'd do some searching on google before posting here again, because you aren't being very descriptive or clear on what you need help with.. We need DETAILS.

Trust me :)

You do 'not' want to download from a 56k connection

In addition, With your demonstrated level of knowledge about this...

Stay with Windows!!!

If you must mess with Linux, then, order the distro via mail

And, 'please' stop calling us all dud(e)

YOU HAVE TO GIVE SOME MORE DETAILS. What type of ISP? Static or dynamic (I assume the latter)? What EXACTLY is the problem? What have you tried? Have you searched google, checked the Lycoris forums? Have you checked if you can ping an address? Have you checked if you've been assigned an IP address outside of the web browser for Lycoris?

Also, insulting people isn't going to get you any further in solving your problem. Especially when they may be correct.

[edit] Also check the Lycoris website for compatibility issues with your modem or ISP [/edit]

what kind of ISP service do you use? If its AOL or some other ISP that requires their software to run in the background for dialup, forget it. Call you ISP and ask if they support linux. Usually you just add a dail up connection and put in the phone number, username, password ect.

No, what you are taling about? Let's clear up in here..

1) Did your friend already install Lycoris?

2) If no, then what are you talking about? Since, you are online already, so you just download that ISO file from linuxiso.org and burn on CD.. I am able to download it without problem.

3) If yes, then what kind of connection are you talking about? Cable, DNS, dailup and etc aren't same way to setup. Just do the same way what you did with RedHat.
