perochan
i was suppose to wait the incoming car to pass but i was in a hurry so i made a quick left turn on yellow light. But the incoming car also ran a yellow light so the car crashed into my side rear. :(
aubaine
I didn't have a rear bumper in my car for a while, and I got stopped by the cops (Illinois). They decided not to give me a ticket, but I had to promise to get it fixed right away. I took it to the theatrical scene shop I was working in at the time, and some buddies and I bolted a big old piece of 4x10 to the back and painted it the color of the car. Later, one of my friends painted "WOOD?" in bright orange caution paint on it. That car was a local legend for a while.

aubaine
got pics aubaine? I wish. That was about 7 years ago, and I didn't realize how much of a "legend" it had become until I heard someone talking about it when I moved back to that town last year. OPaul
Pretty sure they are required by the NHTSA, which would cover all states. It should be listed in the FMVSS somewhere; http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx...9cfr571_02.html If not, here's a NHTSA report on the matter; http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/regrev...ate/807072.html
Biotoxic_hazard_835
It is definitely against the law to drive without a bumper. Cops will stop you and fine you for not having all required safety equipment. Bio
