best memory card recovery software?

Question

I need one, and i need it fast.

I've tried a few but none of them identified my Canon SD600 (they all want that the card will appear as a drive letter in your local PC.)

later today i'll get a card reader, until then, i'd like to hear your experience with those kind of apps, and if there's a software that can rescue my pics without a card reader, even better.

Thanks

In my experience, it is mandatory that the camera storage appears as a drive letter and not as an imaging device. Once you have that, you can try the free program Undelete Plus http://undelete-plus.com/ or Ontrack's Easy Recovery Pro, which is a more powerful program, but isn't free. http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/file-recovery-software/

If you haven't used the card to take new pics after the data loss incident, there's a high chance that you'll be able to recover your files. Otherwise, at least some of the files will have been overwritten and unrecoverable.

From all the tools I tested, this is where it's at:

http://www.lc-tech.c...scuepro-deluxe/

Never tried that... but tried lots of Tools and many of them found 0 Pictures.

Even had Tools that destroyed the Pictures as the installers wrote temporary files to the cam drive...

If no tool finds your pictures, you might want to try this one: http://www.digicamrecovery.com/

Recuva all the way. To be honest, don't 99% of the apps use the same method, just with different GUIs?

Big resounding no!

Also, why care about a supposed chunk of 99% products, when there is better software out there.

It's mostly the depth of scanning those tools vary at.

Obviously they take more time in their advanced modes, but can find data otherwise not found by the conventional methods.

Recuva has failed me every time I have attempted to use it. Partial or no recovery at all. I gave up with everything and bought a license of recovermyfiles. It has worked better than on track and most other recovery/corrupt deleted file reconstruction software.

Wow, I stand corrected. I thought most recovery tools were the same.

I now use EaseUS?and it works well for me. And I think the recovery software can't recover all the lost data so it could be better if you have backed up.
