Dell 6650 issue - Hotplug PCI

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone out there that is running Windows Server 2003 on a Dell 6650?

The 6650 has Hotplug PCI. So it puts the "Saftely Remove Hardware" icon in the task tray. This is a problem, as I don't want any customers "Removing" the PCI Bus while it's running.

Windows 2000 had an option to Hide it from the task tray, but that option seems to be missing in 2003.

Anyone else have a solution for this?

thanks,

- Jazkal

Why do you customers have local access to your server?

look in the local security policy for a switch to disable it. :)

Because we are "Managed Hosting" company. Which means, our customers pay us a monthly fee to "Lease" our servers to run whatever they want.

Thanks for the info, I'll look for that on Monday.
