bob21
Not without on the fly muxing or transcoding, which begs the question why not convert them to another supported container. Just mux them to the superior MP4/M2TS containers with MKV2Vob or TSMuxer and drop them onto the hdd or a network share.
Elliott
Yea, in this instance you could either hack the Apple TV to support it (but only at a max resolution of 480p) or you could convert them to an MP4 container.
keven
Hi GuysI have a friend who has a mac and has purchased Apple TV and he was asking me if its possible to stream MKV files to the Apple TV I know I can do this on my PC to PS3. Is this possible ? Thanks Matthew yes ,it is possible to convert mkv to apple tv on mac ,however, you need to convert mkv to mov or mp4 ,which are apple tv compatible formats . Add MKV video files to Mac MKV to Apple TV Converter and it will work for you .it is proved to be good by me and my friends.
enroh
free and much better is mkv2mp4...it will not reencode either as its only a container change...plus you can have it grab artwork and episode details if you like such things http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MkvToMp4
Nick H. Supervisor Posted June 24, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted June 24, 2014 Given that this thread is from 2009, I think we can assume the OP found his answer. ;) <Thread closed>
