Yes. Someone built a 16-bit logic unit in minecraft, a game that lets you build basic electrical circuits and by extension, complex computers like this. It's...kinda awesome

Should have posted this in the main Minecraft thread instead of a thread of its own (despite how awesome it is).

Clearly you are not a true Neowinian :p

http://en.wikipedia....etic_logic_unit

Basically, its a part of a processor built in the game Minecraft which allows you to do very basic circuitry (such as a pressure plate that, when stepped on, opens a door)

He basically is building a computer using basic circuitry in a game.

"You listening, pig?"

Swine aside, this is impressive, even if I don't understand how it works completely.

If he did that manually (not use a map editor) ... wow.

You are not alone.
This seems not only stupid but time consuming...

So, you don't understand it, therefore it is 'stupid'?

I've heard of bugs in the code... now it's pigs in the hardware?

He's reversing technology, instead of making computers smaller and more efficient, he's making them larger and less efficient, so large in fact that he had to replace the bugs with pigs to keep everything to scale.

It is impressive, but it does seem like a massive waste of time and really makes you wonder about some people....
