Reidar
I've been using SCCU (from this thread) to make desktop icons with no text underneath. I've got the hang of it now but starting out I didn't save three icons I created on my desktop as a file. And now, I can't do anything to erase them. Right-clicking just brings up "Create shortcut". Safe mode didn't make any difference. Clicking Delete on my keyboard has no effect. I can't do anything about them, they're just there. Any way to delete such icons? Reidar
Oh, wow...apparently if the icon file that you selected to represent the icon you create is moved, you're rendered unable to open it in the program, too, leaving that as a permanent undeletable icon. This program is creating a mass of untouchable useless icons on my desktop that I can't even hide. Any help is appreciated. This is where I downloaded it, by the way: http://www.herbystweaks.net/diwt.htm Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/950502-anyone-use-sccu/#findComment-593333232 Share on other sites
grandexandi
Hi, I was able to delete it using a software called "Shell Object Editor", found here: http://www.tropictech.de/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=5 After installing, when you open it, right-click and choose "Expert Mode". It will show all the shell objects on your computer. Find the one you want to delete, located on the desktop, and delete it. But be careful not to delete the wrong thing...!
