It would appear Windows 7 lowers the sound level when it detects a call or microphone conversation,
so right click the speaker icon in the taskbar
click sounds,
goto communications and select never mute.

Actually no, happy to have link deleted. A problem i was having and thought was related to Firefox plugin container, but its not.

Skype has a check box that switched between Skype auto adjusting your mice volume or not, tried that one out ?
